In my home, the act of serving one another is more important than the order of who is served.
Sometimes, serving others require us to reprioritize how we want things.
On one particular morning during breakfast, my son, Kyzer, didn’t think it was fair that I wanted him to serve his sisters a juice box before he got his.
Even though he was the only one that asked for one at the time, I thought it was more important that he served his siblings first; even though they didn’t ask for one, I knew they needed it.
I wanted to teach Kyzer the lesson of serving others in his need.
Serving others in our need is an act of worship unto God.
The Father is seeking people that will be a good and faithful servant.
The word faithful describes someone that will stick to doing something even when there is opposition, negatives feelings or desires to do something else, or one that is unwavering.
Have a need? Serve!
Have indifferent feelings about a matter or someone? Serve!
Have enemies? Serve!
The Bible teaches us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 to serve [anyways] because it is all for the glory of God.
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh;rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
Galatians 5:13 NIV
“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
Proverbs 11:25 NIV
