After finishing her initial serving of breakfast, my daughter came back for more.
Only this time, she held the plate out to me, held her head down, and mumbled something under her breath.
I stood there knowing what she wanted yet still not budging because I wanted her to use her words.
After a few seconds of going back in forth (me asking her what she wanted and her responding with a mumble), I (again) told her to open her mouth and use her words.
Seeing that I wouldn’t budge until she used her words, she finally held her head up and opened her mouth – using her words to communicate what she wanted.
The purpose of my reinforcement to use words wasn’t to upset or annoy her, rather I wanted her to be confident whenever she approach her father and I.
In the same we, our Heavenly Father, wants us to be confident each time we approach Him, believing that He will both hear us and answer us according to His perfect will.
