Navigating Life: Following God’s Directions

Every time we load up the truck to leave home, my son turns on the navigation system and selects the destination to take us Home

Yes, you read that right..

He wants the navigation system to take us to the very place we leave.

Nevertheless, I allow him to watch it; watch all the turns and details of the map that the navigation shows, and seeing that the further we drive, the more time is added to the distance of getting back home.

As I watched my son watch the navigation’s screen, I thought of this moment to be a representation of how many Christians are today.

Many ask God to show them the way and is shortly given the way that they should go, but they choose to go the opposite direction which adds more time to get to their destination.

Reading the Word, yet is going further from the Truth.

Have been given commands and instructions from God, yet still do what self wants to do.

The Word of God has many functions; one of those functions are to keep us in the right place with the Father – that is to be close.

It is absolutely not okay for any believer to read the Word, yet go in the opposite direction.

What we read or listen to when we open the Bible is our manual for life that God expects us to follow at all times.

“So if we say that we share in life with God, but we continue living in darkness, we are liars, who don’t follow the truth. We should live in the light, where God is. If we live in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood sacrifice of Jesus, God’s Son, washes away every sin and makes us clean.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭ERV‬‬
