The Body of Christ: Healing Through Intercession

My oldest daughter, Kailani, searched throughout the entire house looking for me.

When she found me, she walked up to me with her sister’s hand in hers and began telling me that her baby sister’s stomach was hurting.

Other than trying to figure out what pain my baby was experiencing, I thought of this moment to be uniquely for me to recognize and see from God’s perspective.

This is what we ought to do when our sisters and brothers in Christ don’t have the strength or language to state how they feel.

There are babies in Christ that needs to know what other help is available other than medicine or natural remedies.

Some people’s pain and problems may persists even after seeing a physician; but this is where we, the body of Christ, play our role.

We present our siblings in-Christ to God.

He is the ultimate Physician and there is nothing and no one that He cannot heal.

He has every answer that we may ever need.

He answers the prayers of His children, whether the prayers are for themselves or for their brother or sister.

The love of God within us compels us to be compassionate and helpful to one another.

Being that we are one body (1 Corinthians 12:12), whenever one part hurts, the remaining parts hurt as well; and though there may be pain, from the strength that we have, we are to pull the weight of the weak one, do the work, and intercede for one another.

“that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

1 Corinthians 12:25-27 ESV
