God Knows Our Hearts: Responding to Conviction

When my youngest daughter came over by me, I smelled a stench.

I asked her if she had pooped.

Looking up at me, she nodded her head yes.

What I asked her was a rhetoric question; fully knowledgable about the mess that she made (in her pull-up).

In the same way, when we are questioned about our faith in Christ or anything we’ve done or said, it isn’t meant for us to necessarily respond to, rather it is for us to think about and identify what needs to be adjusted or removed from our hearts and our lives.

God already knows the sin, the thoughts, and the emotions that we have.

His convictions are purposed to turn us to Him and allow Him to deliver us from the mess we’ve made.

So the next time wer’re asked about something we have or shouldn’t have done, we are to respond correctly and wisely, and to remember that He already knows the truth.

“and He did not need anyone to testify concerning man [and human nature], for He Himself knew what was in man [in their hearts—in the very core of their being].”
