My youngest daughter, Kamryn, continuously cried out as she repeatedly told me that she was sleepy.
Each time she did, I’d tell her to go to sleep, but she resisted.
This is very similar to what many of us do to ourselves in our life with the Father.
We’d be tired of a situation that is happening in our life, then cry out to the Father about it, but when He sends help, we resist or decline.
This doesn’t make much sense, does it?
When we are faced with an issue that we later take to our Heavenly Father, He not only listens to us, but He also gives us a way of escape and the best option to resolve the matter.
It’s a sign of mistrust when we choose to not do what He advises us to do, which also results in pride.
It is important to recognize that whatever concerns us is also a concern to our Father that truly loves and cares for us and knows what is best.
What He wants for us is never meant to give us a hard time, but to give us peace and joy, which is why we must rest in Him.
“I will listen to what God the Lord says; He promises peace to his people, his faithful servants — but let them not turn to folly.”
