There are several children nursery rhymes and songs that has a life lesson or meaning that we can grasp and relate to in unique ways.
I realized that the game, Hide-n-Seek, has an unforgettable meaning that can serve as a reminder for all believers in Christ as we navigate through parenthood,
In the game of Hide-n-Seek, after the seeker finishes their countdown, they say, “Ready or not, here I come!”
We can take that well-known statement back to the Word of God.
Whether we are ready for Christ’s return or not, He’s coming.
Whether we have been obedient or disobedient, He’s coming.
Whether we have prepared for His arrival or not, He’s coming.
Whether we have been faithful or not, He’s coming.
Jesus Christ is coming.
And when He comes, it is His perfect will that we be ready.
As parents, we have the responsibility to teach and train our children how to get ready and stay ready so that they do not be found unprepared.
We get to teach our children how to hide in the ‘Secret Place’- in the place of prayer.
We get to train our children how to dwell in the presence of the Lord and find delight in His Word.
Jesus is coming back for those that have been hidden in Him.
Ready or not, here He comes.
Are we ready?
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.“
Colossians 3:1-4 NIV
