Seeking God’s Rewards Through Obedience

My son, Kyzer, wanted to be rewarded tablet time without first doing his educational work that I instructed him to complete.

This moment exemplified how so many Christians expect to be blessed and rewarded by God, yet fails to be obedient in the basic things He asks of us.

God rewards everyone that actively strives to live a life that pleases Him, reflects His character, and brings the most glory to Him.

It is not wise to expect God to reward disobedience and sin.

It is his plan to reward us after we’ve done what is most important to Him – His Kingdom business.

After we’ve done all that He commanded of us, we will be able to stand confidently before Him and receive the rewards He was always waiting to honor us with.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33 NIV
