Overcoming Fear of Missing Out on God’s Gifts

My mom had given me some new and healthy snacks to try out; as she was handing them to me, my daughter, Kamryn, came over and attempted to take them from my hands.

My mom then grabbed Kamryn (gently) and turned her around towards her saying, “Those are for Tiffany. I have enough to give to you too.”

This made Kamryn upset because she wanted the snacks specifically from me.

Again, my mom looked at Kamryn and told her, ‘Just because they didn’t come from your mom, doesn’t mean that you won’t get any.’

Many times, we (the children of God) expect God to bless us a certain way, by a specific person, or at a certain time we want it.

But this isn’t the mindset we should have. God’s ways is not our ways. How or when He bless us is based on His will, not ours.

Our Heavenly Father has more than enough to give to every person. He’s never short of blessings.

The fear of missing out is a common attack of the enemy that we must acknowledge, present to God, and leave it at His feet. In turn, we are to take His Word and hang onto it.

We each have promises that are laid up in store for us; therefore, there is never a need to feel that God has forgotten about us or do not have enough to give.

Blessings may not come from the person or place we expect them to, but God has the perfect Way they will come.

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”

Ecclesiastes 11:5 NIV
