My household is never ready or looking forward to my Spring cleaning.
This is because I get rid of EVERYTHING!
One day, while my children were away at school, I took the time to tackle their rooms.
All the old toys, broken toys, toys with missing pieces, and toys that were altogether ignored got stacked into boxes and sat outside their bedroom door until I was ready to take them downstairs.
The toys were still in the hallway when they got home from school.
I could see my son, Kyzer, looking in each box where his (now) old toys peeped out.
He starred at them, moved them around the box, and attempted to take out a toy or two until I stopped him.
Watching him reminisce on what I felt was no longer of use in his life made me think about what it looks like when Father God removes things and people from our lives.
We look back at them, reminisce on the good ole times, and easily get sucked into the feeling of wanting to reconnect.
But God knows best for His children. He understands the beginning and end times of each season of our lives – even when we don’t.
We must remember that there is a season for everything – some meant to last for a short time while others last for a long time.
And when we don’t understand why someone or something has been removed from our lives, we can trust that God allowed it because He knew something that we didn’t know about both ourselves and what (or whoever) was removed. And He knew that it would all work together for our good and His ultimate plan for our lives.
Nothing is ever wasted or done without purpose because we have a timeless Father that understands our human times and seasons.
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
