On one particular morning, while I was cooking breakfast, the power went out.
At first, I was a bit upset because I was almost done with the food I was preparing until I remembered that it was my children I was intending on feeding.
My parental survival instincts kicked in and I made a way to finish cooking their meal. I was sure that a power outage would not stop my plan to take care of my babies.
This moment reminded me that no matter what unexpected things happen, God’s goodness ensures that His plans for His children always prevails.
Whether it is His children’s mistakes, or someone else’s sin, God knows how to turn things around for our good.
Sometimes, we can think that an interruption can cancel out or delay God’s original plan for us. But it is important to remember that nothing catches God by surprise.
He is always in control, never controlled.
He will do absolutely anything to meet the needs of His children. All we must do is trust Him, stand on His word, and believe that His plans for us are always good.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
