Whenever my children came down with a sickness, what they had was later transferred to me.
Not on purpose, of course; but because I cared for them.
The truth is, anytime this happened to me, I didn’t mind because I believed that though I was taking on the sickness, they were being relieved.
That is what I always want for them.
Moments such as these make me think of the many times we’ve been sick or burdened by hard times but Christ, the One who cared for us, took on the sicknesses and burdens we once carried.
When Christ told His disciples that He would send a Helper, He accounted for the sick and weighty days that we’d face and still made a firm decision that He’d still care for us – and not only that, but He will take on everything we suffered from.
This is love.
Love cares..
.. even, when there are risks to take on.
“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:4-5 NIV
