As I was getting some housework done, I could hear a big fuss between my two oldest, Kyzer and Kailani. They both were calling me to make each other stop doing whatever they were doing.
Without much thought, I responded out of frustration saying, “Y’all literally call me for everything! It is necessary?”
But then….. it hit me…
Why shouldn’t they call me for everything?
Do I not have that same privilege to call on my Father for everything?
God dealt with me about this on such a deep level because my response to them had the potential to turn them away from the very help that was originally intended to help them instead of turning them to the wrong solutions.
We all have the privilege and opportunity to call on Father God for everything because He cares about everything that concerns us.
No situation or circumstance is less or more relevant than the other.
Therefore, let us get in the habit to call on our Good Father for help in everything we do, say, feel, and even think.
A MOMent to Reflect:
I can believe that more often than others, moms are called on the most. And for this, I can also believe that we don’t have all the answers. But the good news is that we have a Father that have every answer that we need. His Word alone is the light on our paths (Psalm 119:105).
Whether we have the answers or not, His Word always gives us clear and accurate direction so that when we take heed and follow the way that is set before us, we then can be sure that we are leading our children in the way they should go – in the ways of the Lord.
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”
Psalms 34:4-11 NIV
