Fill the Drawing?

(I spelled that correctly!)

It amazes me how many times my children can watch the same movie over and over and over again, and not get tired of it.

In fact, they get more excited and interested each playback.

When this happened some days ago, it took me a minute to take in this moment and learn from it.

I was able to see that this moment demonstrated how we should be each time we open the Word of God (the Bible).

We are expected to show up with a clear mind, believing to receive a new instruction, a new revelation, or even a different feeling or emotion.

We ought to keep giving into the influence of the Word that continually draws us to keep coming back for more.

After a while, we’ll find ourselves becoming more excited and motivated to return back to what gives us the most joy and pleasure and keeps our minds focused on what is important instead of what is happening around us.

Even as my children watched the movie, I too found myself watching the movie and catching clips of it that I found interesting with a willingness to continue watching to see what was next.

There were times I’d take a seat on the couch, alongside my children, and watch the movie to the end.

This too demonstrates how when people see what keeps us happy and energized and coming back for more, they may look over and find out that what interests us is also interesting to them.

This could very well be a unique way to draw people into the Kingdom, and it is just as effective as any other way – and it pleases the Father because we set good examples!

Going forward, let’s try to be intentional about creating habits that keep us in the center of the Word, along with setting the example that God wants us to be.

He consistently draws us to fill us and keep us whole, healed, and free.

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

John 4:13-14 NIV
