On the way to drop my children off to school and daycare, I could hear my youngest daughter, Kamryn, tell me that she didn’t want her breakfast as she reached forward to give it to me.
I then reached back and sat her food in the passenger seat, but then decided to offer it to my oldest daughter Kailani, who had eaten all her food up.
Kailani accepted and began to eat away at the food that once belonged to Kamryn.
Kamryn then got upset because Kailani was given something that she did not want.
Then I thought..
When people have something, whether it be a business idea, a ministry, or a job position (as examples) but they make the decision that they do not want it or they accept it but mishandle it, it will then be given over to someone that is willing and available to recieve it.
This reminded me of the story of Saul and David.
God originally gave Saul the position to be king. He was to follow God’s leading in everything he did. But Saul had other plans (self-glory) which resulted in him losing his position as king.
God then sought out a man after His own heart and that would be willing to keep his command. That man was David. (1 Samuel 13:14)
David was available to receive it and had done an amazing job stewarding the position under God’s wise counsel and guidance.
Jealousy, hatred, and resentment filled Saul’s heart because of the fact that what he once had, was then given to someone that was honored to do something good with it.
Many people do not see the blessings and benefits of a thing that they’ve once had until it gets in the hands of another person.
Do not let that be you!
Identify and delight in the gifts and blessings that God has given you to enjoy, labor in, and steward and do not let them slip away; because if you lose it, someone else will use it.
"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit."
Matthew 21:43
