I AM Fighting For You

Ever since my children began school, I learned of the major role that was important for me to step into – being my children’s advocate.

Speaking on someone’s behalf wasn’t a duty that I had to take on prior to having children, but since becoming a mother, I learned that this is a duty alongside other obligations that I had to fulfill.

Whatever need my children has, I make it known to their teachers.

Wherever there may be a lack of resources or services, I speak to specific individuals to discuss plans and opportunities that my children can benefit from.

My children is never aware that I am at their school working and moving on their behalf, which makes it even more meaningful to me because when they think that nothing is working out for them, I am actively working and getting things moved around for them.

I work behind the scenes – the places that they’ll never get to see or hear about.

This personal moment of mine exemplifies how the Holy Spirit works for us.

He is our advocate that fights, speaks, and works on our behalf.

Whatever it is that we are in need of, He goes to the Father and intercede on our behalf. Even in prayer, when we are unable to formulate our words, He knows the needs of our hearts and sets them before the Father – the great I AM.

The Holy Spirit goes into rooms that we may never know about and touches the heart and minds of people, causing them to change decisions and plans concerning us, so that it may all align with the will and purposes of God for our lives.

So whenever we have those moments where we lack help and resources, feel counted out, cheated, or even overlooked, we must remember that Holy Spirit is moving and actively working on our behalf.

It’s never a ‘coincidence’ that we get the increase, the promotion, the approval, the upgrade, or any other good thing. It’s all a manifestation of the work of Holy Spirit. He is good and faithful to all who trust Him to advocate on their behalf – even when we cannot see it.

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God."
