A CupFULL

As I was preparing dinner, my daughter Kamryn came over to me with her cup, wanting me to fill it up with more of her juice.

At that moment I couldn’t because I was handling raw meat, so I told her to give it to her sister, Kailani (to give her something to do until I was able to give her what she needed).

Unfortunately, this didn’t work out for me as I thought it would. She refused to take her cup to her sister and became very adamant about me filling her cup.

God showed me in this moment that this is how we ought to be with Him. It’s not He would convince us to go else where (as I did with Kamryn), but to know that He is the only one that can fill our cup – a representation of whatever we need in the moment.

It is important to know that people or things cannot and will never be able to satisfy us in ways that only God can.

Whenever we get to a place in life where our cup is empty – our strength is low, peace is lost, hope is little to none, or our fire is burned out, we can look to God to empower us, ignite our fire again, and flood our hearts and minds with His peace that no person can give nor take away.

There ought to not be any substitutes because God can and will do whatever His children need!

"You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows."

Psalm 23:5 NIV
