The Way

Since my daughter’s birthday was on a school day, I decided to bring her and her classmates some treats to enjoy in honor of her.

Before I could get to her, I had to access the front office to check in and provide a proper form of identification.

There were other doors I could access, but had I went through those doors, my access would be invalid and I would be technically trespassing.

The act of trespassing leads to penalties that wouldn’t be favorable nor positive. There would be a cost to pay.

As God begin to bring this moment to focus, He reminded me that Jesus is the only Way to the Father.

In today’s society, people have become convinced that there are other ways and methods to make in into heaven, and furthermore be with the Father for eternity.

But the truth is, there is no other way… no other god.. no crystal.. no sage or incense.. no person or community that is able to give us direct access to the Father.

We must first believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is the Savior of the world and that He died for our sins but was raised to life so that we too can be raised to be with the Father.

Needing to have a proper form of identification for my daughter’s school is equivalent to being a true disciple of Christ.

This simply means that we must live life the same way, attitude, and character that Jesus lived during His time on earth.

When we stand before Him on Judgment Day, He will examine our hearts, for this is what identifies who we truly are.

IF our hearts matches His heart, we are granted access to the Father. If not, access will be denied.

The questions I must ask is:

Do you have ‘proper’ identification?

And, is Jesus the route you’re taking?

Be sure to take a moment and be honest with yourself. It is ok that you are not put together as God desires you to be in this moment, however, it is not okay that you deny the Way and continue in a way that leads to death and destruction.

“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:1-2 NIV

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6 NIV
