Just Enough

As I picked my children up from school, they began to ask for food from their favorite fast food place.

I turned to them and reminded them of the variety of foods and snacks I had just filled our kitchen up with some days ago.

My son gave a big sigh, indicating that he wasn’t quite interested in what we already had at home to eat.

This moment allows us to see how we too, can be ungrateful at times, or just seem to overlook or forget about what Father God has already done for us and even blessed us with.

It is important to know that along with this level of discontentment, greed is present. This means that a person can never feel satisfied with what’s already in their possession.

Though God is willing and able to give us what we want, He first wants us to acknowledge and be grateful for His provision for the things that we needed.

And… He is ALL that we need and more!

"I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am." Philippians 4:12-13 MSG
