Clean House!

Most parents can agree that children do not keep their rooms clean.

Very often, I command my children to clean their rooms and be sure that their toys are in the toy bin after playing with them, otherwise, they’d be scattered all over the floor.

For me, it is a MAJOR benefit of mine for them to have their room clean and clear so that when I go into their rooms to put clean clothes away, I have a clear path and have to worry less about stepping on anything that causes pain or injury.

This makes me think about our heart.

When Father God comes in, is there anything that we have in His way?

If there is, this can cause a delay in what we need Him to do because additional time is needed for Him to clean it up first before He does what He intended to do in the first place.

This is the part where many people complain about and question His faithfulness, but they fail to realize that it is not God that is delaying that “thing” you want done, it is people!

It is our responsibility to make sure we have a clean house [heart]…

It is our responsibility to make sure that we have the free space for God to come in and do what He pleases to do…

It is our responsibility to get rid of all filth and trash so that He can bring in the clean and new things that we need.

In His Word, God gives us all the tools and instructions to keep our hearts clean and pure.

When we do our part to read and digest this wisdom, He then will have free space to come in and do what is good and pleasing.

“So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.” James 1:21 MSG
