Be Ready

Up until it was time for us to leave home and go to our destination, I continuous told my children to put on their shoes and grab their traveling toys.

My son, Kyzer, obeyed and was ready when it was time and so was my baby, Kamryn (thanks to her daddy!)

But my daughter, Kailani, ran up stairs to get the very things I told her to have with her before it was time to go.

As she was upstairs in her room, I took the other two children outside to buckle them up in the car and then I came back inside to grab something else.

Because Kailani didn’t hear anyone in the house, she then ran downstairs screaming and crying because she thought she was left behind.

Once she got downstairs, I then decided to say something to help calm her and then we left.

This moment made me think about the importance of being ready when Father God comes for His children.

In scripture, He continuous encourages His children to work, be alert and ready for the Day of the Lord.

This is a time and day when all His prepared children will be caught up with Him, as those who failed to obey and prepare will be left behind.

As I reflected on Kailani’s scream and cry when she thought she was left, I couldn’t help but to think about the screams and cries of the people that will actually be left behind and how much worse it’ll be.

Ohh, what a day!

Thanks be to Father God for His amazing grace and mercy that has given us another opportunity to get prepared and stay prepared for the appointed time.

We must keep in mind that His preparations and warnings are not to be taken lightly. Every second, every minute, every hour, and every day is not promised.

The Day of the Lord is coming and we must be ready!

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
“‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
