Keep Going…..He’s Watching

Nothing is more important to our children than them having our undivided attention.

There will always be something that they want us, their parents, to hear or witness.

Whether it be to see a small scratch on their little arm or to look at a funny looking character on television.

I’ve witnessed the disappointment that my children have felt whenever they’ve demanded my undivided attention that I failed to give them.

At times they would whine while other times they would pause until I turned my attention to them.

As my daughter, Kamryn, was taking her dirty pamper to the trash, her eyes was locked in to mine, making sure that she had my full attention so that once she threw the pamper away, she would be celebrated.

On her way to the trash, I turned my attention away for a few seconds, and when I turned back to her, she had paused with the pamper still in her hands.

Seeing that she had my full attention again, she continued on to the trash and finally threw the pamper away, then turned to me and smiled as she clapped to the cheer.

Taking some to reflect on this moment allowed me to realize how important Father God’s attention is to me, how it influences the way I walk, talk, and make decisions daily.

I can recall the moments that I’ve had to remind myself that even if no one else is watching, Father God is.

For many years of my life, I figured that getting approved by people was going to give me the satisfaction I needed; but I have come to find out that people won’t always give the attention nor approval that I like for, therefore, the only one I should look to is God.

What He says about me matters.

What He thinks about me matters.

Having His full attention matters to ME – even if others have turned away.

Therefore, I choose to show up for Him everyday He allows.

As long as His eyes are on me, I will NEVER stop!

"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him....
