My children wake up at an appropriate time so that they wouldn’t miss school or any appointments..
They have a meal to eat every time they are hungry..
They have water [and juice] to fill their cups and quench their thirst..
They have a bed to lie in when they are worn and tired..
They have a full tub with clean warm water to refresh themselves when needed..
They are able to go into any room of our home and flick a light on and there be light..
They have a closet and dressers full of clean clothes and shoes to wear everyday..
They have transportation to take them to whatever destination they need to be at.. And so on..
What is my point here?
Children thinks that life, necessities, and even the things they want are all freely given.
But what they might not know is that for parents, there is a cost to pay for everything they have and will ever need.
They cannot fully grasp the love that we have for them that motivates us to get up (even when we don’t want to) and labor so that they can have.
They don’t know the sacrifices that we make just to make sure that even if we must go without, their needs will be supplied.
They don’t know of the sleepless nights we have time and time again pondering on how we can make life easier and more comfortable for them.
Yet to them, all these things are hidden in hindsight. Not many times [if not at all] do they think, “Oh my parents is the reason why I have this and that,” or “Oh my parents is the reason why it is possible that I can do this and that.” Nor do they often thank us and show true gratitude for our doings…
Therefore, they think it’s all just freely given..
The point of it all is this Moms:
The breath that we breathe, the activity in our limbs, the job, the transportation, the house, the resources, the food, the water, the clothes, and everything else that’s in our possession is all because of Christ Jesus.
It was Christ Jesus that labored to get victory over sin so that we can walk in freedom with no condemnation..
It was Christ Jesus that stayed up in the late night hours or early mornings to pray and intercede on our behalf so that everything work together for our good..
It was Christ Jesus that made the FIRST sacrifice for us by laying down His life so that we can live… freely.
Let’s take a moment to be honest with ourselves and reflect on this 1 question:
How many times do we acknowledge and really appreciate what Christ Jesus has done – and still is doing in our lives DAILY?
Most children would not recognize the hard labor and sacrifices, nor understand the mental and emotional rollercoaster ride that we experienced until they become adults and/or parents themselves.
Some children has been given the opportunity to honor their parents; while for others, it’s too late because their parents [or caregivers] is no longer here..
Hence, we ALL have an opportunity at this very moment to honor the one and only that has made ALL things possible for us as we do for our children – Father God.
He’s still here for us to give Him all the honor and glory that He so deserves.
Let us not miss this grand opportunity.
He’s well worth the acknowledgement, respect, and appreciation.
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ "
