A Woman Of Action

While I was helping my daughter, Kailani, clean her room, she started happily singing the song “Clean up, Clean up…”

But there was one problem.

She was not cleaning up.

I was immediately reminded of the scripture in Matthew 15:8-9, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

Many people claim that they love God, yet do not love in action by following His commandments.

They say that Christ is Lord of their lives, but yields to their idols and fleshly desires everyday.

When was the last time we checked ourselves to determine whether or not our words align with our actions?

If we claim to be women of God, does our actions match the descriptions that is written in the Word of God about how a godly woman (or man) should live?

According to the Bible, hearing and speaking the Word is not the same as doing.

The famous quote, “It’s easier said than done” applies to the Christian way of life in many ways and shows up when we are challenged the most.

But the good news is that through Christ Jesus, Father God has given us the power and grace to live out what He has commanded in His law.

The bottom line is that we must make up in our mind, body, and soul that we will live according to the standard we claim.

A MOMent to Reflect:

The Word of God defines who we are.

At the very moment we learn and understand who we are, our mindset and the way we see life changes. We begin to move and respond differently. This is because we understand the importance to live up to what we claim to be.

Despite what other people say and do, when we confess God as lord of our lives and that we are His disciples, we will love no matter what, we will remain obedient to His every command, the fruit of the Spirit is who we are and our entire lives is truly a reflection of His Word.

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.” James 1:22-25
