A Different Perspective

At times, I’d change into a different pair of glasses to adjust my facial appearance to match a style of some sort.

Being that I have several pairs of glasses, there are some pairs that I wear more often than others. So when I change from a pair that I have worn for a long period of time, it is easy for my children to notice because they become so familiar [or common] with one look, even though there are more looks to discover.

Recently, when I changed into a new pair, I got nothing but stops and stares.

Seeing how amazed they were about my new look, God began to show me His perspective of this moment.

Our view of God can become so limited if we don’t pay it the attention it deserves.

We can become so common with certain character traits of God, that we miss out on seeing more traits that He reveals.

He does not want us to only see and know Him to be a provider, a protector, and a healer; He wants us to also see and know Him to be a counselor in hard times, a judge when things are unfair, a spouse or friend when there is no one alongside us, and a teacher when we don’t have the answers.

We can know all that He is through His Word.

In the same way, He does not only see us as His children, but He also sees us as His prized possessions, His chosen ones, the apples of His eye, and His hands, feet, and mouthpieces to do great and mighty things in the world.

God is more than just a heavenly Father.

Therefore, we ought to not become familiar [or common] with one or two traits about Him.

He’s everything we need and more!

A MOMent to Reflect:

Growing up, I can recall my daddy working so much as a construction worker. He was such a hard worker and I admired him for that.

At times, I’d sit with him and watch the beauty and perfection of his work.

My mind was wrapped around those moments, and for years I was convinced that he was just the hard worker that he always was until…

I got much older and spent more time with him.

After much time spent talking and listening to him, I found out that he was more than a hard worker.

My daddy is my friend, a good [unofficial] counselor, a provider, my protector, my teacher, a problem solver, and the list goes on.

Seeing him to be more than I could ever imagine makes me feel like the most blessed daughter in the world!

I love you Daddy 💜

Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.”
