What Can I Do?

Each time I looked up, I would see my baby girl, Kamryn, getting into something that was not to be played with.

“No Kam!”

“Stop Kam!”

“Put it down Kam!”

“No no!”

And then……

I suddenly remembered some parental advice my daddy gave me some time ago.

“Never just tell a child what they cannot do without telling them what they can do.”

This didn’t settle in my mind when he first told me. But it came alive to me in this very moment.

God then began to give me more perspective on this; showing me that He tells us what we cannot do AND what we can do – in His Word.

Many people feel overwhelmed at the ‘thought’ of living holy and righteous for God. This is because of the handful of Christian people that makes the “Do nots” the main message; leaving people confused and clueless about how they are to move forward, or what could be done when they stop giving in to the sin they were in.

Father God doesn’t leave it up to us to figure it out. The way to life is plainly laid out before us.

For those that are newcomers into the body of Christ, the 10 Commandments could be a great start. They tell us what should be done and what shouldn’t – if we are choosing to live God’s way.

Even as Father God disciplines us as His children, His loving kindness redirects us toward the right path we ought to take. In moments such as these, we have something to turn to that will please and honor God as we do what He tells us to do. Otherwise, if we did not have another option, we would turn back to the very wrong and sinful things we needed to stop doing.

A MOMent to Reflect:

Frustration comes when we feel like there’s very little to no options left in whatever we’re facing.

This is not a feeling that God wants us to give in to. Therefore, He gives us practical guidance that can be applied to literally every aspect of life…

Finances, parenthood, marriage, relationships, business, and even health.

Every subject matter is discussed in the Word.

We don’t have to figure life out because God gives us everything we need to get through successfully.

We don’t have to give in to sin because we have a roadmap to salvation.

We don’t have to give in to bad company because God gives us the company of the Holy Spirit.

We don’t have to struggle because God gives us the right to trust in Him, not our own understanding, and He will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5).

In EVERYTHING, we have another way because God cares for and loves us that much.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
