Since becoming a mom, I have often thought on the countless times that I have heard my mom or grandmothers pray and talk to God throughout their day.
It may not have been what most people would have considered a prayer because it may have been simply a “Lord, I thank you”.
Knowing what I know now about God, that prayer is just as powerful as any other prayer said from the depths of one’s heart.
In the midst of my mothering duties, I always find myself praying throughout my day.
Though car rides, bath time, cooking, cleaning, and laundry have been the busiest moments, they are the most rewarding and satisfying part of my days simply because I can talk to God in my heart.
As I teach and train my children in the ways of the Lord, prayer is the most essential part.
My heart’s prayer is that as they grow older, they will know that God is never too far or unavailable for them.
Having a relationship with Him never has to be dull nor silent.
Instead, there is a steady stream of love, peace, joy, and conversation.
The best part is that we can be ourselves.
A MOMent to Reflect:
Growing up and seeing people do things, such as talking with God, out of habit didn’t make much sense to me.
Now that I have a family of my own, I can now understand the importance and value of talking with Father God throughout the day.
Given the opportunity to witness the goodness and faithfulness of God in our homes, we ought to have all the more reason to acknowledge and talk to Him.
Father God actually looks forward to hear from us. Anytime is the best time. There is no specific place nor day that we must talk to Him. He is omnipresent – He’s everywhere.
He sees and understands the moments we have as mothers. Life can be quite challenging – but there’s never anything to hard that He can’t resolve or put together again.
Steady conversation with Him makes the difference in our lives and strengthens our relationship and trust in Him because He is the answer for everything!
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
