The Real Me

It always amazes my husband and I whenever someone gives us a report about the behavior of our children when they have been in someone else’s care.

Their behavior in their responses to things or people and their communication is seemingly different than how they behave at home or in private.

It is certain that my husband and I are very pleased to hear these amazing behavioral reports about our children. We believe that they are indeed very good children. Though we, as their parents, know their true selves.

If they got hurt around other people, they will try to brush the pain away and “seem” like they’re ok..

But as their mother and father, we know that they are really in pain.

If they were rejected or brushed away by other kids to play with toys around other people, they would “seem” to be ok with it and turn to find something else to do..

But as their mother and father, we know that their feelings were really hurt.

If food was readily available for them to eat, given by other people, they may slowly shy away and deny the meal..

But as their mother and father, we know that they are hungry.

Father God sees and knows the real part of us that most people do not see or may not understand.

So many people put on an emotional or spiritual mask to cover up what they really feel on the inside.

This is pure torment to one’s self.

Life do not have to be like this.

It was never meant for us to carry heavy loads by ourselves.

Jesus invites us to bring every bit of shame, hurt, unforgiveness, fear, and rejection before Him. This is one of the reasons why He says in the book of Matthew,

If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light.” (Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭CEV‬‬)

But this scripture doesn’t become effective in our lives until we make the decision to be real with first, ourselves; then, with Father God.

It is impossible to hide REAL problems from a REAL God.

God is omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (present everywhere), and omniscience (all-knowing).

People question God’s existence and His power and authority due to the extended time of their suffering and struggles, but fail to question their response to His commands in His Word that tells us to cast our cares on Him.

How can a true Father help His children that carry false identities?

How can a true Father bless His children that has false motives?

How can a true Father operate on His children’s hearts when they continually give Him their hands?

We have a Father that sees us from the inside out.

Even in the darkest room in the darkest hour of our lives…

He sees and He knows.

There is NOTHING we feel or experience too major or too minor for Him to see about.

This is a REAL Father that knows the REAL us.

A MOMent to Reflect:

As a mother that dealt with postpartum depression, stress, anxiety, and the heavy weights that come along with motherhood, I have discovered that these issues did not have to gain control of my mind and heart.

I have learned that these life-threatening issues are literally what the enemy uses to take us out because he fears what we carry on the inside of us.

The enemy knows that Father God created the REAL part of us to be much more powerful than he is based on Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭19 that reads,

I have given you the power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to defeat the power of your enemy Satan. Nothing can harm you.”

The enemy do not have to win control of our lives because we have a Father that desires for us to come before Him in raw form, lay down our weaknesses, humble ourselves, fully submit to Him and His authority in our lives, and to trust and believe that He will take good care of us and victory is ours.

Our real selves have real power and real authority that is given by the real Father – a Holy God.

You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know all about me. You know when I am resting or when I am working, and from heaven you discover my thoughts. You notice everything I do and everywhere I go. Before I even speak a word, you know what I will say, and with your powerful arm you protect me from every side. I can't understand all of this! Such wonderful knowledge is far above me. Where could I go to escape from your Spirit or from your sight? If I were to climb up to the highest heavens, you would be there. If I were to dig down to the world of the dead you would also be there. Suppose I had wings like the dawning day and flew across the ocean. Even then your powerful arm would guide and protect me. Or suppose I said, “I'll hide in the dark until night comes to cover me over.” But you see in the dark because daylight and dark are all the same to you. You are the one who put me together inside my mother's body, and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt. Nothing about me is hidden from you! I was secretly woven together out of human sight, but with your own eyes you saw my body being formed. Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything about me.Your thoughts are far beyond my understanding, much more than I could ever imagine. I try to count your thoughts, but they outnumber the grains of sand on the beach. And when I awake, I will find you nearby… Look deep into my heart, God, and find out everything I am thinking. Don't let me follow evil ways, but lead me in the way that time has proven true.”
‭‭Psalms‬ 139‬:‭1‬-‭18;23‬-‭24‬ ‭CEV‬‬
