Welcome Into My Heart, Father

Almost every time my husband or I come back home from being away, my daughter, Kailani would run to the door with a big smile and greets us saying, “Welcome mommy!” or “Welcome Daddy!”

This made me think on how I welcome Father God into my home – my heart.

Do I make Him feel at home?

Do I make Him feel comfortable?

Do I make Him feel wanted?

Do I give Him the opportunity to be exactly what He came to be, for my benefit and for His purpose?

Our heart’s posture matters to God.

There are a couple of things He will not do when it comes to our homes (our hearts):

He will not will not force Himself in.

He will not reside in a home that chooses to allow bad company to reside.

And He surely will not clean up anything that we choose to hold dear – even if it’s not good for us.

It is His desire to come into both our physical and spiritual homes to do a clean sweep so that He can be the head and take charge of everything as we do nothing but trust Him.

This starts with our welcome .

In the same way we would turn away from a place that doesn’t make us feel welcomed, He would do the same.

A MOMent to Reflect:

It is certain that something will take up occupancy in our home.

The question of the matter is,

Who or what have we welcomed in and how will this affect our lives?

..our family and the generations to come?

..our finances?

..our relationships?

..our careers?

..our mental state?

If we take a moment to reflect on this, think on what changes might we need to make in our decisions about the company we allow in.

If I could suggest a specific guest for you to invite, it would be Christ Jesus.

Welcoming Him into your home will, for sure, be the best decision you’d ever make!

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
