Put On

I’m sure that most parents can agree that getting small children dressed and ready for school can be challenging.

There’s a bit much of resistance, whining, kicking, and sometimes they’d just fall back asleep as we struggle to put their clothes on.

It always satisfies me to see my children already woke when it’s time to get up and ready for school.

Most times, they will be at my bedroom door, excited to started the new day.

Whenever this happens, it is a promising guarantee that my morning will be good and smooth-flowing, which makes the day all the more better!

As I reflected on this moment, I thought of the many ways and opportunities we can make it easier for our Heavenly Father.

So many times, we resist His will, His discipline, and His correction – and even the simple 10 Commandments that He’s given us to follow.

It is US that must be cooperative and willing to let Him dress us in holiness and righteousness.

The resistance does not necessarily hurt Him because although He loves us and wants the best for us, He will not force us to put on Christ.

The resistance (for sure) hurts us more than ever. We fight and push away the very things that are used to equip us and send us on our way to do greater things in the Lord.

A MOMent to Reflect:

I can believe that most people resist the very things they’ve prayed about which doesn’t make any sense at all.

As we dress and take care of our children, Father God desires to dress us in holiness that is acceptable to Him.

This requires a willing heart.

This requires an obedient heart.

This requires a mind that is determined to be transformed into the likeness of Christ.

This requires a child like YOU!

“But now you have arrived at your destination: By faith in Christ you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe—Christ’s life, the fulfillment of God’s original promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭MSG‬‬
