For The Glory

Kamryn, my one year old, has not yet started walking but she is in the trying stages.

This excites her more than anything because she can get to me without anyone’s help.

In the midst of this, she has become confident in sliding off the sofas onto the floor to crawl wherever she pleases.

This gets a bit different when it comes to my bed because it is much higher from the floor than the sofa is from the floor.

Kamryn knows of her ability to slide off things to get where she wants to be. What she does not know is that because of the height difference of the sofa and bed (from the floor), there are risks of landing unsafely.

Nevertheless, she remains determined to do what she feels is necessary to get to me because I am all she wants.

This reminds me of the woman with the issue of blood mentioned in the book of Luke.

This woman was willing to risk it all just for what she knew she could get from Christ.

How much are we willing to go through to get to God?

What risks are we willing to take to get closer to Him? To just be in His presence? To get the healing we or our children need?

Father God is everything we need and everything we need is in Him.

I pray that every mom who read this eyes be opened to realize our need for Christ (just as much as our children need us).

A MOMent to Reflect:

The Bible tells us that life will not be easy. As believers, we will go through tough times. We will face uncomfortable situations and challenges. There will also be risks (steps) of faith that will be needed to take as part of our obedience to God. The good news is that, in the end, ALL things will have worked together for those that love God, according to Romans 8:28.

Here’s a question to ask ourselves:

Are we willing to do whatever for the glory of God?

A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding and she could find no cure. Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked.

Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.”

But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.” When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. “Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
