Be Ready

When my family and I have plans to be out the house for the day, I like to clean up so that we can come back home to rest, relax, or do whatever we want to do.

Life seem to be so much better when you can come home without having to clean anything because it’s already done. At times, I may go ahead and cook dinner for the day as well.

It was one day, as I was getting things prepared for our plans to get out the house, my older two children, Kyzer and Kailani, began to lose patience and started getting drowsy.

I first got them dressed, then I started cleaning before I got myself ready.

They looked confused for a moment when I started washing dishes and things.

Clearly, they didn’t understand my purpose to do all that cleaning. All they wanted was to get out the door and into the car.

When I finish cleaning, I went upstairs to get myself dressed and they came in my bedroom to hang around and play.

I still took my time to as I continued to clean up as I got dressed.

Their impatience really started to kick in and they left and went to their rooms to get in the bed.

When I finally got ready, and stood at the top of the stairs so that they can follow me down, they were snuggled in their beds – almost sleep.

As I reflected on this moment, I couldn’t help but to think about how we, children of God, give in to weariness and lose hope, when God told us to remain steadfast and to not grow weary and give up.

There will be times when we may feel like He’s not moving or He’s ‘taking too long’, but Father God is an on-time god.

While we wait, we must be careful to maintain a joyous and hopeful attitude, knowing that when the time has come, we will be able to join Him for eternity.

Scripture says in Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭36‬-‭37‬,‬‬

“Learn to be patient, so you will please God and be given what he has promised. As the Scriptures say, “God is coming soon! It won’t be very long.”

A MOMent to Reflect:

There will always be kingdom business to get done.

It is important that we do not let these moments pass us by, instead, let us rise up and be the disciples Father God has called us to be.

Each day we are granted, He will give us the strength and courage to do everything that needs to be done for the people. This is for our good and more importantly, for His glory.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭‬‬
