A Hidden Word

I have a bookshelf in my home office that my children tend to mess with at times.

A few months ago, my daughter, Kailani, took a small Bible and began carrying it with her everywhere she went.

One morning, as we were headed out to school and daycare, she got upset because I did not allow her to take the Bible with her.

My reasons was so that it would not get lost or damaged.

She was not happy about that at all.

She cried up until I checked her in; but I reminded her that the Word is in her heart and that should be enough.

Of course, she did not understand, but she will as she grow older.

This reminded me of the scripture, Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭11‬-‭13‬, saying

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.”
‭‭

The Word of God is our lifeline. The book itself cannot save us – rather, it is what’s in it that can save us.

If we want to know our Father,

If we want to be in right standing with Him,

If we want to lean and depend on Him, then we must seek Him through His Word.

We may not have the opportunity to carry the physical Bible with us,

But we are assured that holding the words deep within our hearts will make the difference.

Father God is a keeper.

Therefore, when we do our part to read, study, and meditate on the Word, He will be sure that it’s all kept in our hearts; and to the point that it flows from our lips – where ever we are.

A MOMent to Reflect:

Being a mom is not easy, but it is possible.

There is hope for us.

The good news is that the hope that we have, is written in the Word of God.

It reminds us of the faithful God we serve and His love, His care, and His presence that will never leave us.

So with this in mind, we have everything we need as we raise our children because it’s in our hearts.
