God uses our children to teach us a very valuable lesson by using the saying,
‘“You have to crawl before you walk.”
I want to first apologize on behalf of the many churches or individuals that have made you feel like you should one day wake up as a ‘perfect’ being.
Here’s the truth:
You’ll never be a perfect person.
You’ll never be a perfect mom.
You’ll never be a perfect wife.
You’ll never be a perfect employee.
You’ll never be a perfect church leader or whatever your respective place may be.
These are truths that we must be ok with.
I’ve either heard or witnessed how people drove themselves either to the hospital or the grave by trying to live up to these ‘standards’ or ‘patterns’ that the world has set.
Please, give yourself some grace just as God gives you grace.
Always try to live as best as you can. And when you do make mistakes, get up and make it right WITH GOD.
No need to prove anything to people.
Take every trial and error as a lesson to help you move forward to live a life that pleases God.
If you really think about it, we feel so pressured to ‘walk before crawling’ because of who we’re surrounded by..
because of who we have in our ear..
because of who or what we watch.
Never allow anyone to rush your process when you know that you know you’re on the right track doing the right things.
God already knows that there is a process.
You just need to know.
In your crawling stage, take the time to get to know your Father and what He wants for you and from you.
In your crawling stage, take the time to get to know your environment and the purposes God has chosen you for such a time as this.
Times like these are so important and valuable as we mature to be the women Father God has called us to be.
Then when it’s time to walk, we’ll already be prepped to go out and show up as God’s mighty moms!
A MOMent to Reflect:
While in your crawling stage, it can be challenging to be content with what you’re able to do in that moment because everyone around is walking – which is what you deeply desire to do.
God purposely designed this stage to be apart of a child’s growth journey to help them know and understand that they can do nothing without us.
In the same way, God doesn’t make us perfect. We have to crawl too. He intentionally allow us to go through all that we go through so that we know and understand that we need Him – always and forever.
Take your time. Just do not get comfortable being in the same space. You have work to do for Christ and you have what it takes to do it.
Christ is there every step of the way.
“By now you should have been teachers, but once again you need to be taught the simplest things about what God has said. You need milk instead of solid food. People who live on milk are like babies who don’t really know what is right. Solid food is for mature people who have been trained to know right from wrong. We must try to become mature and start thinking about more than just the basic things we were taught about Christ. We shouldn’t need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds that bring death and why we ought to have faith in God. And we shouldn’t need to keep teaching about baptisms or about the laying on of hands or about people being raised from death and the future judgment. Let’s grow up, if God is willing.”
