The Gift That Keeps On Giving

If you’re a mom with children that use a tablet, honey I understand exactly how you feel!

One thing that children absolutely do not play about is a tablet.

A simple freeze up or pop-up ad will have them going insane! Not to mention what happens when the tablet’s battery dies. Whew! That is an entire story in itself.

Once the tablet is disabled, we can expect to not get the peace and quietness that we want (and need).

Children seem to act out and get so bored and agitated to the point of whining about every little thing and to them, waiting for the tablet to charge seems like forever.

A tablet is a gift from us – their parent, that was never required or deserved to have. It is only intended to be for their entertainment and for some, it is used for educational purposes. Either way, they must learn how to properly maintain themselves in times when they are given the tablet and when it has been taken away.

In the same way, Father God has given us many gifts and blessings.

But what is our response when He takes them away, whether temporarily or permanently?

Do we get upset and act out as a child would for a tablet? Or do we accept it and trust Him to do what is needed in our lives?

Would He be able to trust us to be on our best behavior when He shift things in our lives?

We cannot afford to waste time on focusing on what was lost because we have more important matters to take care of that involves our soul, the souls of our children and those that God has ordained to cross paths with us.

A MOMent to Reflect:

We can enjoy the gifts and blessings that Father God have given us just as much as children enjoy the gift of a tablet from us. But we must not become so attached to the point that we make it an idol and act unreasonable when it is taken away, damaged, broken, or lost.

Our faith, discipline, focus, and hope is tested through the gifts we are given.

It is imperative to self-evaluate ourselves and pray that we remain strong and aligned with God so that we be not shaken when things do not go our way.

The end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore, be sound-minded and self-controlled for the purpose of prayer [staying balanced and focused on the things of God so that your communication will be clear, reasonable, specific and pleasing to Him.]”
