Even with two incomes in our home, my husband and I have experienced some hard times. It has happened to us all, right?
As parents, we have had moments of feeling like we failed our children because of the lack of funds to get them the things we want them to have or to take them out to have some fun.
I think it is important for every mother, father, or even caretaker to know that moments like these can be the enemy’s playground – if we allow him the access.
See, the enemy wants you to feel defeated.
It excites him to see that you feel like you’ve failed. He knows that in this state of mind, you feel at your lowest and you will most likely care less about what’s more important – which is your heart, mind, and soul.
It’s possible for you to have your guard down; and if this happens, anything and anyone can easily influence what you do and how you do it.
But God wants us to lay the spirit of defeat and failure to rest for good!
It was never His intention that we feel like we failed our children.
Besides, the most important and valuable thing is not physical or financial – it’s spiritual…. it’s LOVE.
Love has no price tag.
Love is unconditional.
Love outshines all other gifts and materialistic things.
Though we naturally bore our children, they were originally (and still are) from God. It is He that will take care of them.
God wants them to have just as much as we do.
God wants them to be blessed and protected just as much as we do.
God wants them to be happy and healthy just as much as we do.
We no longer have to stay up pacing the floor while worrying about providing their daily bread because that is Father God’s job.
Our job is to love them and raise them up in the ways of the lord.
The rest is God’s.
So, take it easy.
A MOMent to Reflect:
God sees and knows every need and every desire that we have for our children.
He also knows how that makes us feel when we don’t physically or financially have it to give to our children.
But yet, He encourages us to trust Him.
To rely totally on Him with everything.
There is nothing too big or too small that He cannot handle.
He cares just as much for our babies as we do.
We just have to transfer our trust that we have in ourselves to do for our children over into the caring hands of God because the fact of the matter is:
We are human and we can fail;
But God……
God never fails!
“Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead]give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake? If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him.”
