Let’s be real, shall we?
Hearing our children scream and cry is inevitable.
They cry when they’re hungry.
They cry when they’re sleepy.
They cry when they want “that” specific toy.
And of course, they cry when they just want mommy.
At times, we as mothers can simply ignore it; while other times, we just want it to stop so that we can focus on whatever needs to be done – or to just take a nap, right?
It’s amazing how Father God uses moments such as this to speak to us..
A personal experience that I had was with my 3 year old daughter.
As I was getting her ready for daycare, she seemed to have the “energy” to whine about literally everything. Being that it was so early in the morning and I just wanted peace, whining and crying was the absolute last thing I wanted to hear – from anyone.
Things seemed to go left this particular morning. Trying to get my son ready as well, my 11 month old daughter decided that wall plugs were the way-to-go. As I pulled her away from what seemed to be so attractive, my 3 year old daughter continued her whining rant.
Frustration began to build..
Patience seemed to get thin..
And then, these words came to me saying;
“Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning.”
That settled everything I felt in that moment.
Hearing and feeling the power of those words assured me that my daughter’s whining and crying was going to one day be a very rare thing and that there is going to come a time when I just may miss it (as crazy as it may sound) – including the opportunity to get her ready for school.
Whatever “thought” or “feelings” that attempted to make me lose it, God relieved me from it. The blame of it was not going to be my daughter, because what was in my heart would be a representation of the outcome.
A MOMent to Reflect:
My load was lightened once again because of a good Father that cares so much about me.
As I share this moment with you, I think of it to be “the way of escape” that scripture mentions in 1 Corinthians 10:13.
We should never believe the number one lie of the enemy that says that God has left us to deal with our problems on our own.
For our Father, who is heaven (and in us), has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
I pray that every mom receives this same love and assurance that Father God gave me in whatever she face. It is very well possible to come out on the winning side. It’s already in us!
