Based on Matthew 18:1-5, have you ever wondered why God would want us to have a “childlike” mindset?
Some people feel that an idea such as this may be contradicting to His desire for us to also be mature in the faith. Only by the wisdom of God, we can connect the two meanings together to make sense of it.
Being the observing mother that I am, I was watching how my children, especially my 10 month old daughter move around and interact with everything they “think” is entertaining. A decorative wall light that was plugged into the wall, caught her attention – and of course, she went after this thing that seemed so fascinating. To deter her from getting to the light, I called her name. She paused. Looked over at me. Look at the light. And… in an instant, she made the decision to continue her way to the light.
A MOMent to Reflect:
Are we, moms, just as determined – like our children, to pursue the “light of the world”?
Regardless of the many calls we get from friends, family members, and work, we have a serious mission to fulfill. We must stay focused, determined, and passionate in the pursuit to God. Motherhood, does NOT stop God from using us as He pleases. In fact, He desires to use us even more for the sake of our children’s soul. But we must be in a place of submission – even when others don’t understand and when the enemy sends distractions to deter us from the straight and narrow path set before us. God will empower us with everything we need – including mental strength, to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14)!
